Science
Including GIS technology in the science classroom is more than just using a computer during science lessons. GIS empowers your students to effectively use software tools, data and their own thinking to solve problems, analyse information and make effective decisions. GIS can be used to foster scientific thinking and to bring the world of location intelligence to your classroom.
You can use GIS in conjunction with GPS receivers to accurately capture your own data for analysis by the students. You can also use your GIS software with data loggers to capture information in the field. Your GIS software can integrate with these technolgies as well as digital images, text and video files and other documents to give your students many options for communicating their information.
