North Queensland's Herbert Resource Information Centre has recently launched their Enterprise GIS, enabling the sharing of location intelligence for all of the organisation's Joint Venture Partners: Hinchinbrook Shire Council, Terrain NRM, BSES, CSR Sugar, HCPSL and Canegrowers.
The system will improve the business efficiency of all stakeholders, with all farmers able to view maps of their cane blocks along with the associated data, such as soil type and fertiliser input, as well as tracking harvesting in real time to analyse and better manage harvesting.
