Australian GIS Day

GIS Day is held around the world, and provides an international forum for users of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society.
GIS Day aims to educate students, teachers and the general public about GIS, and how this technology is used by more than two million people around the world every day to improve the way their organisations solve problems, understand their customers, and conduct business.
This year, we are holding GIS Day in Australia on Wednesday 4 June. Hundreds of school kids, university students and industry workers throughout Australia will celebrate the day with activities ranging from ?open houses? at government departments, teacher training, to school students working hands-on with GIS and GPS technology.
