Dekho Local Government
Video
This video shows Dekho producing a very quick and useful Property Information Report, 'out to the box'. It involves NO programming, so the production is purely driven by the Dekho Administration Tool. It also shows the benefit of Dekho integrating to a Reporting platform; in this case Crystal Reports, to further enhance the standard Dekho report. This integration means you can add the map to the layout, and in keeping with the first 'Dekho' report, also run spatial processing (intersect/buffer etc.) to arrive at a more detailed result.

Three separate ArcMap documents have been published by ArcGIS Server to Dekho for the following results:

This map shows the 3 published ArcMap documents being consumed by Dekho. This way you can easily set up tailored maps with different layers and symbology for different areas of the business.

The legend characteristics in ArcMap are respected in Dekho. Complex symbology and Group Layers that are all supported in the Dekho environment.

Dekho enables the user to open either the Search or Legend panels in a separate window. They will still reside in the tabs on the left hand side of the toolbar, but for those that want more control or easier access to layer or search capability then this is a simple solution, and more in keeping to the way Dekho's predecessor EView worked.

This map shows three tools in use.
- Redlining: Graphical markups can be an important communication element to a web-based product such as Dekho. It allows many users to see annotation, lines, polygons etc, added by one or more users. Redlines can be saved as either public (for all to see), or private.
- Measurement: Users an quickly measure distances along, or areas of features, return the geographic co-ordinates of particular points and annotate the screen accordingly.
- Bookmarking: This functionality encompasses a wide variety of things, making it a very powerful option to have available. Generally the bookmarking tool would be used to preserve/save the current extent of the map to a given name. Dekho's Bookmarking tool enables the user to have cross-map related bookmarks so no matter what map you are currently viewing you can always swap to another map (and its pre-defined extent) via the Bookmarking option. It should be noted that not only is the spatial enveloped saved, but also the table of content settings, the selections (if there are any), and importantly, any Redlining or Measurement markups also.

In this example, the Selection Review tool is invoked to retrieve information on the selected features, namely the Affected Trees Layer. For this simple Report, the species database is queried, along with the document table to find associated images/documents, and importantly at the bottom of the report you can see the spatial analysis results from buffering the result set by 5m to return all trees in the immediate vicinity, and the Roads within 50m, as these hypothetically may need to be closed to enable the work crew to perform their duties more effectively.

This is another shot of the Selection Review result, this time showing a list this time of associated documents, as opposed to displaying them in the results pane in the next example up. The user has clicked on one of the subdivision plan images to open in a new browser window.

This is a more detailed Selection whereby the user has selected multiple spatial layers at the one time. From here, the user can click the Selection Review tool to retrieve information on ALL those layers that have been deemed 'selectable'.

Dekho allows the integration of dedicated Reporting applications such as Crystal Reports in this example. The user has run a simple property search and then clicked the Report tool and Crystal Reports does the rest. The final result is a neatly formatted Property information PDF format report that investigates the current Property conditions, Legal Descriptions, Zoning Details etc....
