Dekho Administration Tool
Dekho system administration covers all the things that you have to do to keep Dekho customised to your organisation's requirements. It includes things like adding new datasources, creating accounts for users (and deleting them when no longer needed), adding maps, queries, and so on.
The Dekho Administration Tool features a simple and intuitive interface and offers an easy way to customise the functions of Dekho. The Administration Tool has evolved since its introduction at the 2.0 release, with v2.1 introducing a number of new features, including:
- Administering Coordinate Systems
- Administering integration queries
- Displaying maps grouped by map group
- Administering map groups moved to administer maps panel
- Administering combobox lists moved to main query panel
- Improved error handling and validation
- Improved layout and flow of administration tasks
- Included version number in title
- Dekho Queries are now grouped by type (search, layer info, feature info, integration, combobox)
- Supporting SQL Server 2000 for Dekho configuration database

- Adding a Spatial Query [AVI format 7.8 MB]
ScreenshotsThis video depicts the adminitrator adding a Spatial Query to the resultant report. What the user would like to know, given the selected Pipelines; what Platforms will be connected (in this case within 10m) of the selection. The result will be added to the Selection Review panel. This simple example shows the benefit of Dekho's wizard driven administration, so ultimately there is no programming involved at all.
The Administration Tool in action

Here is the initial interface - allowing you quick access to the function required

General settings can be administered through the 'Settings' page. ie. Hostname, Authentication type, Initial map settings, Selection settings, and more.

Allocating tools to a Map in Dekho is as simple as checking the box next to the tool required, once you have chosen the map to administer

Again, allocating Queries to Maps is very simple also

Dekho supports many Query and Search types so these are logically grouped together for easy access. These queries are the allocated to Maps, as can be seen in the previous screenshot.
